Artist Statement
As I have looked for new ways to express myself through my photography, I have started to look deeper into the many ways my life has been separated and moved apart. Both physical and mental separation, as painful as they may seem, have proved themselves to be very defining factors in who I am. There can be a lot of beauty to be found and new directions of growth if one allows oneself the opportunity to look deeply into the breaking and tearing apart process.
Through this viewpoint I have attempted to let my photography express something special about my human experience that has before only been verbal for me. By photographing many underlying themes I wish to look into the many ways emotions and the world around me are effected by the process of separation.
